GutterStuff was recently featured on NBC's Today Show with radio and TV personality Lou Manfredini, aka "Mr. Fix-It".

Lou is a regular contributor to the Today show as well as the host of the popular "Mr. Fix-It" program on WGN Radio in Chicago. He also appears regularly on the WGN-TV Morning News and as a contributing editor to USA Weekend Magazine for the "House Smart" column.

GutterStuff gets a patent from USPTO

GutterStuff Inc. has announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted its Utility Patent Application and has issued the US Patent Number 7208081.GutterStuff� is the only foam filter insert product which has been allowed a Patent. GutterStuff Inc. also has a second Patent application on the foam filter design which has been allowed and will be issued shortly.

The New and improved GutterStuff�Pro has been a big hit with dealers across the country. The flame retardant latex coating that penetrates throughout the product has given the product a durability factor unmatched by anyone before in the filter business.

This "Rubberization" of the product enhances the performance of the foam in many ways. It makes the foam water resistant so that the fibers do not wick or absorb moisture, it reduces incidence of abrasion. It does not swell or contract when exposed to water or extreme cold and it is resistant to both solvents and salts. The coating contains an antimicrobial and a fungicide to prevent fungus groves forming.

Along with the introduction of its new GutterStuff�Pro, GutterStuff Inc. has also developed a GutterStuff� Downspout Insert which begins rollout on August 1st. The Downspout insert provides continued water flow capability throughout the gutter System and is especially valuable in colder Northern Winter climates.

As ice melts through the GutterStuff�Pro and moves towards the downspout it will begin to refreeze as it heads down against the wall of the downspout pipe. This can and has caused blockages in gutter systems rendering both the Gutter system and the Gutter protection ineffective. Company field testing in Northern Ontario, Canada last winter has proved completely successful in a variety of winter conditions.

This spring also proved that the insert could handle large volumes of rainwater. The downspout insert has also shown value as a noise abatement tool on some homes and as a rodent and insect impediment to squirrel and bee infestation.
